The Carlisle Residence
02The Commission
A full-floor residence overlooking Tribeca’s cast-iron rooftops, the Carlisle called for millwork that would read as architecture rather than furniture. We drew a single grain of rift-cut white oak across forty linear feet of casework, letting the material dictate the rhythm of every reveal and shadow line.
Our workshop fabricated each element in-house — from the honed marble waterfall island to the brass-inlaid library ladder — then dry-fit the entire scheme on the floor before a single piece traveled to site. The result is a home where the joinery disappears and the intention remains.
Every hinge, pull, and threshold was specified to close with the quiet authority of a gallery vitrine. This is the standard Atelier holds: work you feel before you notice.
