Maison Lumen

For this hillside boutique hotel, we conceived a family of freestanding furniture that could hold its own against the California light. Blackened steel frames carry hand-woven leather and travertine tops, each piece proportioned to feel inevitable in the room.

The lobby’s centerpiece — a nine-foot communal table — was engineered to disassemble into three sections for the property’s narrow service elevator, then reassemble without a visible seam. Precision like this is invisible to the guest and non-negotiable for us.

Maison Lumen is a study in restraint: warm metals, quiet stone, and the confidence to leave things unadorned.
